Our Matcha powder, harvested from Uji City, Kyoto, represents the pinnacle of Japanese Matcha quality. The tea factory producing it has been operating since the Edo period, and is currently managed by the 16th generation of the family. They have continuously produced Matcha for hundreds of years, maintaining traditional techniques to this day.
The Uji Matcha uses Japan's unique "Kabuse" farming method. This involves shading the tea plants with straw about a month before harvest. This process minimizes exposure to ultraviolet light, reducing the Matcha's bitterness and enhancing its high-quality “Umami” flavor.
For an authentic experience, this Matcha is best enjoyed without the addition of sugar and milk, making it perfectly suited for a traditional tea ceremony practice.
